The Hanseatische Zuckerraffinerie is aware of its responsibility as a manufacturer, distributor and provider of services throughout the food chain and has made many efforts to improve quality since the introduction of the ISO 9000 Series standard. With the introduction of the Food Safety Management System FSSC 22000, we want to highlight the importance of food safety and further raise the standard in production. As a supplier of semi-finished products, we form a basic building block for the production of safer food for the end user.

FSSC 22000


The FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification) is a harmonized and GFSI-approved standard that ensures consistent food safety throughout the food chain. The standard is based on the ISO standard 22000and the technical ISO standard 22002-1: 2009 and additional FSSC 22000 requirements.
Food safety must be ensured at the time of consumption, so all stakeholders along the food chain must be able to control the health risks.
This standard therefore specifies the requirements for a management system in which the following main elements are combined:
Interactive communication
Important for a guarantee over the whole food chain is the communication between the upstream and downstream participants. This includes the identification of hazards and the clarification of the respective requirements of customers and suppliers as well as their effects on the product. It is important to recognize your own role in the food chain to the end user.

The FSSC standard is based on the ISO 9001 standard and thus provides a structured framework for an effective food safety management system.
Preventive programs and HACCP principles
This standard prescribes a hazard analysis for all hazards that are reasonably expected in the food chain. This includes the methods and the equipment used. The hazard analysis determines which combinations of preventive programs and HACCP principles control the risks analyzed.

This standard is therefore helpful in demonstrating that as a company, we can control the health hazards of food to ensure that food is safe at the time of human consumption.

Hellmi - Sugar made to measure

We offer a comprehensive, high-performance product range for industry and trade. Invert sugar syrups, sugar solutions and mixed syrups are manufactured according to customer requirements. We sell glucose syrups, caramel syrups and Kulör as well as various sugar and candy products.
